Bas studied for Maritime Officer at the Dutch Seafarersschool in Rotterdam and Amsterdam.

During his education and after rewarding his bachelor degree he have worked at a superintending company.

Became junior expert at Verweij Hoebee Groep in January 2009 and is attending the internal course to become a senior expert.
